Domaine Tessier

We first tasted a range of wines from Domaine Tessier in their vineyards in Meursault, a practice that’s forbidden by French law we would later be reminded. But then, to a group of boozers nothing beats a few bottles of wonderful Meursault at a themed tasting, literally, when the footgear of the tasters was about to be decorated with a layer of marly limestone. Arnaud Tessier looks a bit too young to drink, let alone to make wine. Judging by a level of dexterity between the pruning poles, however, he could have worked in the famed Meursault vineyards ever since he managed to toy with a corkscrew. He would explain in detail why meticulous pruning is so important for the health of his old vines in Poruzots, Genevrières and other parcels in Meursault. Marked by concentration, vitality, voluptuous fruit and structure, the wines of the domaine are a pure source of delectation and ever-escalating demand in and out of the departement.
